The advent season is a special time in the life of the church. It is a time when we celebrate Jesus, but also the time of waiting that preceded the coming of Christ. We are so excited for this year as we plan to gather together to celebrate Jesus. This year, the season of Advent begins on November 27, 2022. Advent is a time of preparation that is marked by prayer. We offer prayers of humble devotion, submission, and supplication for deliverance for those walking in darkness and awaiting the birth of Christ. This year we are offering resources for the whole congregation to celebrate and experience Jesus together.
This year’s CBO theme is an opportunity to be aware and look with holy awe at those among us. The everyday passerby on the street, the person who cuts you off in traffic, the homeless person on the curb, the angry parent at the basketball game. This is an opportunity to pause and notice where God’s goodness is at work and how we can partner with Him. Because when we do, we might catch glimpses of gossamer wings and angels – messengers of God unaware.
